Willie Bean's Story

Willie is a spunky senior boy (11) who loves to be in the middle of the action. You wouldn't know he is a senior without his slightly greying snout. He still has a lot of puppy left in him! He loves toys of all kinds - ropes, squeakers, balls - you name it he'll play with it! He is more of an independent toy player than a "sharing" toy player (i.e., he prefers to chase the ball vs tug of war with another dog). He very quickly learned how to use the doggie door to go outside. He loves to sniff and explore outside but not for too long because he doesn't want to miss out on the activity inside the house. He loves food and treats (like most Dachshunds) and he loves to get his belly rubbed when he is cuddled next to you on the couch. He wants to know where his people are at all times and will whine if he thinks you left him out of the fun. He most definitely will howl if you join in with him which is a hoot. He is not fond of car rides but doesn't seem to mind them as much when he can look out the window. We have not yet taken him on a leashed walk so unsure how he does. WIllie enjoys being "top dog" and can't wait to find a loving home to rule over. He will be a great house protector and an adorable companion since he has so much love to give.

If you are interested in a pair, check out his sister, Mila Brooke. They came from the same loving home and are great together!
