Wilbur's Story
**CURRENTLY ON MEDICAL HOLD/NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION**<br/>Wilbur was picked up as a stray on 29 January and was immediately given a good bath and taken to our vet. An exam, bloodwork and x-rays have diagnosed him with:<br/><br/>-Grade 5 heart murmur, Heartworm disease and an enlarged heart<br/>-Severe Hookworm infestation<br/>-Anemia (secondary to Hookworms)<br/>-High WBC count (secondary to infections)<br/>-Yeast and fungal skin infections over his entire body as well as several infected wounds; most notably a hole on his front, right leg<br/>- Double ear infections <br/>-Pneumonia <br/><br/>He is loaded up on meds, getting 4 small nutritional meals a day and bundled up with PJ’s and sweatshirts. <br/><br/>Wilbur is stable and in good spirits, but this kind of neglect doesn’t happen in days or weeks; this boy has been suffering for a very long time. As of February 2026, Wilbur is not yet stable enough to be evaluated or adopted and is decompressing and recovering with a medical foster.
