Despite his rough start, he's an incredibly sweet boy who truly loves people and craves attention.<br/>He can be reactive around other dogs and cats, so he may do best as the only pet or with slow, careful introductions. Wilbur is a strong walker and will need someone who can confidently handle him on a leash.<br/>The good news: he's very food-motivated, which makes training a great opportunity-he already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more.<br/>We're still getting to know Wilbur and will continue to update his profile as we learn more about his personality and needs.<br/>Wilbur is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has started dewormer. Wilbur did test heartworm positive and has started the slow-kill method of treatment. He'll need to be kept on an ivermectin based prevention until he can be retested in a year.
