Aussie Rescue of the Mid Atlantic is excited to accept applications for Whiskey. Whiskey is thought to be around 4 years old, and 52 pounds, he is probably an Aussie mix. Whiskey came to ARMA from a small Virginia shelter where he was a fan favorite. He is currently fostered in Maryland.<br/><br/>Whiskey has a beautiful brindled coat and wiggling nub. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, potty trained, crate trained and knows basic commands. Whiskey is currently being fostered with 2 other dogs. He is medium energy- he will run around the yard to chase a ball and other dogs but will also lay beside your feet in the house. He is eager for scratches and spending time with his humans. You can almost always find him in a sploot position or upside down scratching his back!<br/><br/>Whiskey is super sweet and responds best to patience, encouragement, and lots of love. Whiskey loves going for car rides and sits very nicely in the backseat. Whiskey is still learning about all the new things he’s currently experiencing, so can be a bit shy to new places, dogs and people in the beginning but once he is comfortable he loves to be right on top of you, next to you, and follow you around. If you are on the couch, you may be used as a pillow.<br/><br/>Whiskey loves walks, trails, and hikes. He is a great walking and running partner. If you have a bag of treats, he will not take his eyes off of you. Whiskey is still learning the concept of fetch but he is very content running around the yard with a ball.<br/><br/>He is very intelligent and VERY treat motivated so learning new tricks will be easy for him.<br/><br/>Whiskey is a known counter surfer, so consistent management will be important in his new home. Whiskey will benefit from continued training, and more exposure to the outside world to grow his confidence. Whiskey is continuing to learn the world is not so scary after all.<br/><br/>This handsome guy would love a home in a quiet area – high rise apartments and a busy urban setting isn’t his thing. An active home where he can get lots of attention is really what he’s after.
