Whiskey's Story

If you're interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application at https://www.sarahstreasuresrescue.net/application-to-adopt

- Approximately 1 year old Neutered Male Australian Shepherd/ Border Collie type Mix approximately 35-40 pounds.
- He’s done great with other dogs and enjoys hanging out and playing. Whiskey can annoy the other dogs with his play style as he loves to wrestle and chase and can be a bit much at times for some dogs.
- Whiskey has limited exposure to cats. He did not seem to want to eat the vet clinic cat, but caution is encouraged until further cat testing can be done.
- Whiskey loves people and is happy to be your best friend! Whiskey has done very well with children he’s met. He’s a higher energy boy and may be too energetic for super young ones.
- Kennel trained and is mostly house trained – he’s had a couple accidents but with consistency and time, he’ll do great!

Whiskey arrived to rescue from our Partner vet clinic after completing a stray hold with no owner coming forward. He was originally found limping and wandering. Whiskey had a dislocated hip and underwent a FHO surgery to allow him a chance at life. He still favors that leg, but from a health standpoint, he’s 100% healthy. We believe he may have suffered with the injury for quite some time and he still believes he cannot use it. Whiskey is a medium to high energy boy who will need an owner willing to channel his energy. Whiskey feels he is a lap dog (no matter the size of lap!) and loves attention. He is working on his manners and basic obedience.

Whiskey has been vet checked, is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, neutered, and current on his flea/tick/heartworm/deworming preventatives. Whiskey’s adoption donation fee is $300.00

We realize that people are looking for a predominant breed or breed mixture, but visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
