Whiscuit is a happy-go-lucky fella who would love to play with you and join you in whatever it is you’re doing!<br/><br/><br/>He is happy to play with all sorts of toys, but his favorite ones are crinkly and ones that he can take around the house. Whiscuit is not particularly food motivated, but he still enjoys a treat every now and then. He’d love to sit in your lap while you’re working and run out his zoomies when you take breaks. Whiscut is getting used to being outside and walking on a leash, and enjoys stopping and sniffing around the yard and neighborhood. He is good with the children of the foster family and while he can be shy at first, is interested in meeting other pups!<br/><br/>Because Whiscuit is still a young puppy, he will need an adopter committed to basic puppy training, potty training reinforcement, and gentle guidance as he grows. He’s smart, eager to please, and will make a wonderful companion for the right family. If you’re looking for a goofy, sweet, small-breed puppy to add joy to your days, Whiscuit is looking for his forever home!<br/><br/>The following are requirements for Whiscuit’s future family:<br/><br/>· Because small breed dogs can live 16+ years, applications will be accepted only from age-appropriate individuals who will be able to provide activity, care and support for Whiscuit for his entire life.<br/><br/>· Applications will be considered if there are children in the home over the age of ten and if they have had previous experience in gently interacting with small dogs.<br/><br/>· A family who is patient, home most of the day and will continue Whiscuit’s house training and leash training, and will expose him to new dog appropriate experiences.<br/><br/>· Provide Whiscuit with plenty of daily exercise and stimulation, including walks and supervised time in the yard. A secure, fenced yard would be ideal.<br/><br/>· Whiscuit would be perfectly happy being an only dog, but can also live with another small dog in the home who has similar energy.<br/><br/>· Live within 30 minutes of Saint Paul.<br/><br/>· Agree to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held each year in September.<br/><br/><br/>Whiscuit is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $520.00 plus $46.93 sales tax for a total of $566.93. To meet Whiscuit, please complete an adoption application at the website listed in the first paragraph.
