Weston's Story

Weston was adopted in January and returned due to no longer getting along with the dog in the home. Despite this, he's proven to be a sweet, goofy, and affectionate boy who absolutely loves attention. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's always excited to see you, Weston might be your perfect match!
Weston is housebroken and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and rides well in the car, making him a great candidate for both active and laid-back households. He is good with kids, strangers, and cats, and loves being part of the action with his people.
Weston is not good with other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home.
He has a playful, energetic personality and loves activities like playing fetch, tug-of-war, getting belly rubs, and spending time playing with kids and cats. He is also a bit of a chewer and will go for shoes, socks, and anything left on the floor, so keeping items picked up and providing appropriate chew toys will be important.
Weston will still benefit from continued training, structure, and supervision to help him be his very best self. Providing plenty of mental enrichment along with regular exercise will help keep his busy brain happy and engaged.
Weston is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
