West's Story
Meet West
West is a 5-year-old Bichon Frise with a big personality packed into a little fluffy body. Like many intelligent companion breeds, West thrives when he has structure, consistency, and clear boundaries. He's looking for an experienced, adult-only home that understands the importance of leadership and routine.

West can form very strong attachments to his person, especially the female in the home and if those attachments are allowed to become unhealthy, he can develop guarding behaviors. Because of this, his adopter must be committed to maintaining strong boundaries from the very beginning and continuing training to help set both West and his future family up for success.

West is also dog selective and would do best as the only dog in the home where he can have a calm, structured environment and avoid unnecessary stress or competition.

Training will be required, and his ideal home will understand that consistency is key. West does best with a calm but confident leader who can provide guidance, structure, and accountability while still allowing him to feel safe and loved.

Despite his challenges, West is incredibly loyal and bonds deeply with his people. With the right home that understands his needs and is willing to put in the work, West has the potential to become an amazing companion.

West is not looking for a perfect home, just the right one.
