As if that wasn't enough, he had suffered a traumatic injury and subsequent infection that resulted in the loss of one of his toes. After receiving surgery and the medical care he desperately needed, Wemby went to a foster home where he is working on his house training. <br/><br/>Wemby is so full of happiness and love and wants to say hello to everyone he sees! He has anxiety when he is not with his people (understandably so after all he has been through) so he is working on learning that it is ok to be left alone and his people will come back for him! <br/><br/>Unfortunately, a couple of months after his foot healed, the infection returned and it was determined that he has an autoimmune disease that prevented his body from fully healing from the initial infection. After two weeks on prednisone Wemby is a new boy! The vet will be switching him to a better long term medication that will allow Wemby to live a full and normal life! Wemby is looking for an experienced adopter who will continue to work with him on his manners and separation anxiety. Because of this, it is recommended that Wemby go to a home without small children or frail adults.<br/><br/>He's eager to please, loves learning, and soaks up affection from everyone he meets. His foster describes him as a happy, goofy boy who just wants to be close to his people.<br/><br/>At just 50 pounds, Wemby is the perfect medium-sized companion with a huge heart.
