Wemby's Story
Wemby has every reason not to trust people—but somehow, he still greets the world with a wagging tail and a smile.

This handsome 2-year-old Pit terrier was found abandoned after being left to fend for himself. As if that wasn't enough, he had suffered a traumatic injury that resulted in the loss of one of his toes. After surgery and the medical care he desperately needed, Wemby is now thriving in a loving medical foster home.

Today, he's learning what it's like to be part of a family.

Wemby is working on his house training and manners and is making wonderful progress. He's eager to please, loves learning, and soaks up affection from everyone he meets. His foster describes him as an absolute love bug—a happy, goofy boy who just wants to be close to his people.

He enjoys the company of other dogs and would love a canine companion to play with, but he'd also be perfectly happy as the center of your world. Whether he's playing, cuddling on the couch, or simply following you from room to room, Wemby is happiest when he's with his family.

At just 37 pounds, Wemby is the perfect medium-sized companion with a huge heart. He has overcome pain, abandonment, and surgery without letting it change his joyful spirit.

All he needs now is someone who will never leave him behind again.

If you're looking for a resilient, affectionate best friend who will love you with his whole heart, Wemby is waiting to meet you.
