Webster #6533's Story

Meet Ruby & Webster (“Webbie”) – A Bonded Pair Full of Love

Webster: "The happy little sidekick helping his best friend learn the world is safe."

Webster — lovingly called “Webbie” — is a charming, toy-loving little guy with a petite cream-colored frame, adorable freckled ears, and a heart full of love. Around 21⁄2–3 years old and approximately 35 pounds, Webbie is one of the survivors of the Spencer County hoarding rescue, and he has blossomed beautifully in foster care.

Where Ruby is cautious, Webbie is often the brave one first and he helps Ruby feel safe as he reassures her when she's nervous. And wherever Ruby goes, Webbie is never far behind. Their bond is truly something special.

Webbie still has some nervousness himself — especially with leashes and vet visits — but he has made tremendous progress. He loves people once he settles in, absolutely adores other dogs, and has discovered just how fun toys, soft couches, and peaceful naps can be.

His favorite things include:

Zooming around the fenced yard

Snuggling with Ruby

Toys and playtime

Car rides

Lounging around the house with his people

Making new dog friends

Webbie and Ruby are both housebroken and crate trained, though they do wonderfully free roaming in the home. They are respectful house guests who simply want comfort, consistency, and love.

Webbie is:

Dog friendly

Cat friendly

Good with children

Neutered and fully vetted

Learning confidence every day

Because of his background, Webbie will still need:

• A secure above ground fenced yard

• Patience during transitions

• A gentle adopter who understands fearful dogs

• To remain with Ruby, his bonded companion

These two have already survived more than most dogs ever should. Now they deserve the peaceful, loving forever home they've waited so patiently for.

The best part? When they finally trust you enough to curl up beside you together — Ruby tucked safely near Webbie — you'll understand just how special these dogs truly are.

To apply to adopt Ruby & Webster together, please visit GRRAND.org

NOTE: Ruby and Webster's foster mom is a (non-formal) trainer that originally got them because they were two of the most shutdown and introverted Spencer County kids. Ruby hid under the cots at the GRRAND kennel and if you didn't know she was there, you wouldn't know she was there. They have come a long, long way. They are uber joined at the hip, so they are textbook "bonded". They went from wouldn't allow you to see them, touch them or interact with them, to functioning like normal dogs. They will need an adopter with patience, because they need time to warm up to strangers, but they have warmed up to all of their foster's family and they adore her other dogs. Of course, for a while, she was the only one they would allow to interact with them. She is super patient with dogs and it's extraordinary andnthey have been so lucky to have been wih her.
