Wasabi

Wasabi is a dachshund beagle mix, with the white and brown lemon coloring. We believe that she has some beagle, although some chihuahua also could be possible. Regardless, this girl needed rescue from the shelter, and we took her. She is over 12 pounds and estimated to be 4 years old.<br/><br/>Wasabi has come a long way in the short time in our rescue. The shelter got her as a stray. She was very fearful, growling and threatening to bite as a defensive move. When Wasabi arrived at her foster home, she wanted to hide and was scared. Over a few days, she stopped hiding and being defensive. She now sleeps on the bed, follows her foster dad, wants to sit close or on a lap, takes treats, and likes pets. She will even roll over for a tummy rub. She walks well on the leash, is good with other dogs and had a nice time at a beagle and hounds playdate.<br/><br/>This girl is very cute and sweet. She can be shy or timid sometimes, but she wants to trust and has made a lot of progress. While Wasabi may take a little patience to get familiar with new things, it won't take long for her to come out of her shell. She will make a good friend and companion. A calmer environment may be better for her. She also does not react well to kennels or carriers, so crating likely is not an option.
