Walter is part of the Western Litter of five (Walter, Winnie, Wayne, Wyatt and Waylon). Despite his tender age, he's already shown remarkable resilience, having triumphed over parvovirus (which can be fatal to puppies) and being rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. Walter has enjoyed his time in the BIG puppy pile at his foster home, but he is now ready to find a forever home of his own. Could that be with you? He might be a tad shy, but don't let that fool you. Once he warms up to you, he's all about affection and cuddles. Walter is a social butterfly among his canine peers, always ready to engage in playful antics. In fact, being around other dogs has helped to build his confidence. He is a great candidate for a home with another dog or dogs. At Walter's young age, he is in his prime for training and socialization too. Adopting Walter would not just mean bringing a pet home. It would mean welcoming a brave, loving, sweet and loyal companion into your life. Give Walter the chance to fill your home with love, laughter, and lots of tail wags.

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.

Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
