Meet Waimea
Waimea was born in our care on Feb. 16, 2021. She is an eager girl but can be shy when meeting new people. She loves to play and is learning to walk on a leash. When her handler stops, she'll sit next to her. She likes all polite dogs.
Waimea is timid in new situations, so her foster is taking her out to learn that new sights, scents, sounds, and strangers are curious instead of scary.
**********
Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.
Adoption fee covers two vaccinations and deworming if recommended by our vet. Adult dogs will have current heartworm test. A vet reference is required only if you are adopting an intact dog over 6 months of age to ensure future spay/neuter. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.
Open Adoption Events for Foster Dogs are held on most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open Adoption Events for Bunch Anderson Shelter Dogs are held every Saturday from noon-4:00 p.m. Please check our FB page for changes in Adoption Event Schedules. A scheduled Meet & Greet between Adoption Events may be possible by sending an e-mail to: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We do not hold dogs. Fees are required in cash at Tractor Supply.
We are an all-volunteer, foster-based no-kill shelter & rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. For more information on our organization, visit our website at FoothillsCanineRescue.org.
