Wahlberg's Story

FAST FACTS:
*1 year old & 40lbs
*Dog-friendly
*Kid-friendly
*Working on potty training
*Working on crate training

Meet Wahlberg! This 1-year-old, 40-pound (and working on filling out!) handsome guy was found wandering around a Texas airport with his buddy Irv. Were they brothers? Former roommates? Partners in crime? We may never know, but Wahlberg is ready to trade his days of roaming for a lifetime of sunshine, couch lounging, and being somebody’s very good boy.

Wahlberg started out shy and cautious, but he’s blossomed into a calm, confident, people-loving pup who gets along well with other dogs. He prefers his playdates on the polite side and isn’t afraid to let his friends know when he needs a break — a social guy with boundaries! He’d make a wonderful family dog and could thrive in playgroups, daycare, or other social settings. His favorite activities include walks (especially chasing geese!), sunbathing, splashing in the pool, and catching up on beauty sleep. He’s also athletic, walks beautifully on leash, and could make an excellent jogging buddy!

Since Wahlberg is still learning what it means to be a house dog, he’s working on some beginner-level life skills. Potty training is a work in progress, although he’s getting better at holding it and going outdoors. Crate time may come with some initial whining or barking, and he’s still learning that household items aren’t all chew toys. Toys and bones are relatively new concepts, too, but he’s catching on! The good news? Wahlberg is very food motivated, receptive to commands, and eager to learn, making him a fun student for someone willing to show him the ropes.

Wahlberg is looking for a patient, loving adopter who can help him trade his street-dog résumé for house-dog status. He’s already got the friendly personality, athleticism, and nap-taking skills down pat — now he just needs someone to help him master the rest! If you’re ready to help this sweet boy discover all the wonderful (and occasionally confusing) parts of normal dog life, Wahlberg is ready to meet you!

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

*ADOPTION FEE: $400

*Be at least 21 years of age

*Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

*Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)

*Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date)

*Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation

*Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment

*QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR POLICIES?
