Hello there, my name is Vito! I was found as a stray abandoned in a remote area. I made my way to Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue where they provided me the medical and general care I needed to be ready for a furever family.<br/><br/>I am estimated at 2 yrs old and appear to be a Mountain Cur/ Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, but I'm definitely on the smaller and shorter side weighing in at about 45lbs so must be another adorable breed in my mix! I am quite energetic, but not in a crazy puppy way. I would love to find someone who is active so we could go do lots of outdoorsy stuff together. 1) Submit application 2) Application is reviewed for completeness and assigned to an adoption coordinator 3) Adoption coordinator verifies critical information on the application, contacts references and ensures that the requested animal is a good fit for the family 4) Adoption coordinator, in conjunction with rescue management, approves or denies application 5) Upon notification of approval, an adoption coordinator works with foster and adopter to set up an adoption appointment to bring your new family member home! We strive to work through adoption applications as soon as we can. We are 100% volunteer-based so it can take a day or two to complete the review. This also depends on the response time of your references. Should you change your mind or adopt a different animal after submission, please inform us so we do not spend unnecessary time on your application.
