Vito Luca*'s Story
The idea of a great adventure was a good idea initially, but when the end of the road was Animal Control instead of home, the adventure was not quite so much fun. This little stray had the "little dog" attitude at Animal Control - he was going to take on any other dog in sight. For his safety, rescue was called. Oh so cute, this fairly small terrier bounced out of Animal Control with a "big dog" attitude - he was going to take on the world - that behavior quickly subsided once in with the pack of foster dogs. He is definitely active and playful, still a bit "courageous" so barks at strangers and other "new" dogs, cuddly and snuggly, rides well, enjoys walks and sniffing opportunities, wiggly and happy, alert and very aware of his surroundings, amusing and entertaining (for sure), somewhat puppy mischievous and inquisitive still and very, very cute!! Vito Luca got his name because he displayed a little "Godfather" attitude but all in all, he is quite the sweetie. Training is highly advised; his safety could be an issue if he challenges the wrong other dog. He would really enjoy an active, play-time oriented home where he can be busy in a positive way and have fun. A family with older children would potentially be the ticket. With his fun-loving and comical behavior, you can't help but smile. He is looking for that family who is willing to devote time to training, grooming and loving - he will definitely give his all in return! He may be small but he has a huge personality!

VITO LUCA IS IN A TRIAL PLACEMENT

There is an adoption fee of $150.00 for large dogs and $175 for small dogs and home visits are required. If you reside outside the local area there are some different requirements... personal referrals, a vet referral, an agreement to be responsible for transportation (both ways if necessary) and a commitment to returning the pet to Kitty and K-9 if the placement does not work or your situation changes where you cannot keep the pet. Depending on the circumstances, there may be other requirements. Our commitment is to these orphaned critters we rescue...we devote tons of love, time, energy and money to their rescue, medical bills and care...our goal is to find them the very best placement with a lifetime commitment.

If dogs are marked with a single * call Carol at 345-2096 or kkc.carol@alaska.net. For two ** call Jerrie at 563-0749 or kkc.jerrie@gci.net.
