VINNY's Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Vinny Is Wondering What He Did Wrong!

For three years, Vinny knew exactly where he belonged.

He had a family. He had a home. He had people to love.

Then everything changed.

His family is moving and, sadly, they aren't taking him with them. Overnight, the only life Vinny has ever known disappeared, and now he's trying to make sense of life in a noisy shelter. It's no wonder he's a little nervous. Even so, this sweet boy greets everyone with a wagging tail and a heart that's still wide open.

The first thing you'll probably notice about Vinny is his bark. It's deep. It's loud. It might even make you take a step back.

Then you'll meet him.

Within moments, you'll realize his bark is all for show because it doesn't match the gentle, affectionate dog standing in front of you. Vinny absolutely loves people. He leans in for pets, happily accepts treats with the softest mouth, and soaks up every bit of affection he can get. Our staff and volunteers have quickly fallen for this friendly boy despite the difficult transition he's going through.

His previous family described him as an incredible dog, and it's easy to see why.

Vinny has lived happily with adults, children as young as one year old, other dogs, and even cats. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and leave it. He's crate trained, enjoys treats, and has plenty of playful energy. If you bring him a toy, he'll be thrilled, although he'd much rather have a durable chew toy than a stuffed one. Those fluffy toys don't stand much of a chance!

When playtime is over, Vinny has another favorite hobby. Snuggling.

Give him a soft blanket, a cozy spot beside you, and he'll happily curl up, content just being close to the people he loves. Thunderstorms and fireworks can make him nervous, and he may bark when he's frightened, but all he's really looking for is reassurance that he's safe.

Like many enthusiastic dogs, Vinny could use a little polishing on his leash manners since he sometimes pulls during walks. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, he'll continue learning just as he always has.

What breaks our hearts isn't that Vinny needs training or reassurance.

It's that he has already proven he knows how to love a family with his whole heart, and now he's waiting, confused, hoping someone will choose him all over again.

Vinny isn't asking for perfection.

He's simply hoping that the next home he gives his heart to will be his forever one.
