Hey there! My name is Victor. I am a 7-year-old, 70-ish- pound Standard Poodle boy. Rescue One named me Victor because of all that I have overcome. I was freed from 8+ pounds of matted fur, life outside in a kennel, and incarceration as a breeder. Now I'm ready to learn how to be a loved and pampered inside pet. Because I've lived outside my whole life, I'm still working on learning house training. I'm working hard on that. In the meantime, I can wear a belly band while inside so I don't have an accident in the house. I'm already pretty good on a leash and great in a crate though! I get along great with other dogs, and I'm even okay with cats! I haven't met any kids yet, but I can be kid tested if needed. I am a brave little survivor who has endured unpleas­antries that you can only imagine, and I am counting on you for help in overcoming my horrible experience. It is important to know that I will need a family who is patient and unconditionally loving as I learn lots of new things at my own pace. I will need a calm environment, as I am still pretty timid. Another dog in the home who could show me the ropes would be ideal. My forever home needs a fenced yard. No apartment life for me. My ideal family will be home more often than not so that I can have consistent training. My coat will require a great deal of care, including combing/brushing at home as well as needing to be professionally groomed about every 6 weeks, so my new family will need to take that in to consideration.
