Venus's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This stunning girl is the total package of sweet, smart, and going to be BIG! Her mom is an Old English Sheepdog and her dad is a Black Russian Terrier, and at just 12 weeks she already weighed 20 lbs. She’s on track to grow into a very large adult, so we’re looking for an adopter comfortable with giant-breed pups.

Venus is almost fully potty trained and does great going out every 3–4 hours during the day. When left home alone, she stays in a gated area and has had zero issues with her routine! She has tons of puppy energy, so a fenced yard and an active home will suit her best.

She is very treat-motivated, loves learning, and is doing really well with her leash-walking practice. Venus loves food so much that she eats from a slow feeder to help her pace herself. She can get excited when greeting new people and may jump up to say hello, so continued training will be important as she grows.

Venus will thrive with an adopter who has experience with large or giant-breed dogs, and who’s ready for a happy, enthusiastic, goofy companion. She is truly a gem and will make an incredible addition to the right family! She will require continued commitment to training and socialization, and this will be a big part of application screening as we want to set you both up for success!

Important Adoption Note:
Because Venus is expected to grow into a very large adult dog, we are only accepting applications from current homeowners for her. This is not a standard requirement for our rescue, and renters are absolutely welcome to apply for our other dogs. For Venus specifically, we want to avoid potential issues with breed/weight restrictions or lease limitations as she grows.

The adoption donation is $260 and will include spay, microchip and age appropriate vaccines.
