Velma's Story

**Meet Velma: professional best friend, adventure buddy, and certified attention enthusiast.**

Velma is a sweet, affectionate, smushy-faced girl looking for an active home where she can finally be someone's dog.

She LOVES people, enjoys other dogs, and is happiest when she's right in the middle of whatever her humans are doing. Walks? She's coming. Backyard adventures? Absolutely. Hanging out while you work around the house? She'll supervise. Velma isn't looking for a home where she'll simply be tolerated. She's looking for people who genuinely want a fun, lively, affectionate dog to be part of their everyday life.

Velma came to Stella's Rescue after a few stops along the way, and when she first arrived, she had a lot of pent-up energy to burn. After settling into life at the rescue, we've gotten to see the dog underneath all of that excitement: a loving, social girl who wants attention, activity, companionship, and a place to belong.

She's smart, playful, curious, and wonderfully people-oriented. If you're looking for a dog who will be excited to see you, ready to join the adventure, and equally happy soaking up attention from her favorite humans, Velma might be your girl.

**Velma's perfect home:**

• Active people who want their dog involved in their life
• A home that appreciates a playful, lively personality
• Dog friends are welcome
• Plenty of attention, adventures, walks, playtime, and love
• **No cats, please.** Velma has made her feelings about feline roommates extremely clear. If you're one of the many "I'd love a dog, but I'm allergic to cats" households we hear from... congratulations. Velma has been training her entire life for this moment.

Velma has been waiting a long time for someone to choose her. We think her person is out there. They just haven't found her yet.

**Think it could be you? Submit an adoption application to Stella's Rescue and come meet Velma in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.**

Stella's Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our goal is to ensure every animal is placed in a safe, stable, loving, and lifelong home. We encourage people who are interested in adopting to participate in our3 week "Foster to Adopt" period. This allows both the human and the animal to see if they are going to be a great and loving long term match. We want to remove the pressure some people face to keep an animal out of obligation, instead of being a great match. If it's not working out, no worries. We are happy to have them come back to us and hope the foster parents will help us advocate and find their perfect match.
