Vanilla Carolina Dog Mix Santa Monica, CA

Vanilla is a rescue from TJ, Mexico. She is a rare breed dog mix. Her primary breed is a Carolina dog. She was rescued a month before the pandemic has started. A volunteer was visiting TJ for a vacation and found her and her brother Scout searching for food in a dumb area. Since Vanilla and Scout were malnourished and dehydrated, our volunteer could easily grab her and Scout. The puppies looked underweight and needed urgent care. They have been taken for a quick check up at a vet office in TJ for evaluation. They both received IV's and Vitamin B12 shots. Then, they were prescribed a nutritious diet that was recommended a week before being sterilized. Afterwards, they were crossed to the US where the responsibility of taking care of them was handed to one of our fosters in Fullerton, CA. The puppies were then given their core vaccines, received deworming medication, and received flea and tick control medication. They also received their rabies shot.

When the puppies were ready for adoption, Scout got adopted at the PetSmart in Fullerton while Vanilla was still receiving nutrition for the purpose of weight gain. She stayed in the rescue until she gained ideal weight. Now, vanilla is ready for adoption. She is super playful and energetic. She does well on long hikes and mile runs. She loves to jump in dog parks. She is super cuddly and will be a great fit for people who have an active lifestyle.

PetEmber Animal Rescue is a California 501 (C) (3) charitable non-profit organization that does not receive any governmental funding and relies only on the donations of the public to help provide urgent care for abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and puppies. When adopting a dog from PetEmber, you receive a well-rounded healthy dog that is up to date on all vaccines since all proceeds are directed to provide a supreme veterinarian care, nutrition, and training for the dogs we have. These proceeds are also used to help care for other senior, disabled, or hard to adopt dogs due to behavioral issues.
At the time of the adoption, the adopter receives a complete health record for his/her adopted dog on site. Necessary paperwork such as the rabies certificate, Spay/neuter certificate, vaccination record, and a copy of the adoption agreement are all handed to the adopter at the time of the adoption. These documents help the adopters in the process of licensing the dog or registering the dog as an emotional support animal (ESA). All dogs posted for adoption are 100% ready for their forever homes.

Submitting your application earlier and filling all the required fields will help prioritize your adoption application. We review all application but will not have enough assistance to help provide reply on each individual application. Therefore, if your adoption application is approved, you should hear from us no later than 5 business days after your application is submitted.
