Vanessa's Story

Life is tough as a stray and these pups suffer in many ways. Yes, it’s hard to find food, people are shooting you with their pellet guns to get you off their property, and the risk of being hit by a car when walking the streets is high. However, it’s not just danger and hardship that hinder these pups . Physical deterioration due to the absence of any care is very common.
Because she was alone on the streets so long Vanessa’s ears were chronic when she arrived to rescue. They were so swollen her ear drums were unreachable, and a hematoma was starting to form in one ear, while the showed scarring from hematomas in the past with some pretty severe infections. About 4 weeks later this girl is infection free, however her ears will be prone to infection if not taken care of properly.
It seems Vanessa lived the life of a stray for most of her 4 years. Although she has settled into her foster home nicely she still has some evidence of being a street pup. This girl enjoys the comforts a home has to offer such as a nice dog bed, comfy couch, regular meals and lots of toys. However, when the door opens her first instinct is to dart straight out of that door. Special care will need to be taken when first introducing this girl into a new home. Vanessa loves her dog friends, and has learned to respect the kitties. Her house manners are coming along, but she is still working to master her potty training skills. Like most hounds this girl is very food motivated so consistency and guidance should help her master these skills in no time. Vanessa loves all humans and is a very outgoing girl always looking to make new friends. Vanessa didn’t have a great start to life, but she is looking for a second chance. If you can give that chance to her email jonesm4318@gmail.com today!
