Meet Valentina (Tina)

Valentina is a 7.5-year old Malti-Chi mix. She is hypo allergenic. She was an owner surrender, and it was not an easy decision. She was loved and cared for, but the home she was in had gone through some difficulties making it not the best fit for them to continue on together.

We are grateful that their owner trusts us to find the right fit for Tina. Read the letter from her previous owner below!

Tina will probably do best in a single person home, but anywhere stable, with a yard will make her very happy. I highly doubt she will stick around for long. She's adorable, and her "issues" seem to be 99% related to her relationship with her previous owner.

From her prior owner:

"Valentina is 71/2 years old. She mostly goes by Tina but responds to both Tina and Valentina. Her birthday is September 13, 2013. She recently started using a crate and she seems to feel safer in the crate.

"She loves extremely long walks and loves exploring all the different smells. She likes other dogs that are similar to her in size that approach her gently. She loves running free in the park. She loves squeak toys but sometimes she gets territorial over really cute stuffed toys. Plastic toys she is not as territorial over. She loves to play fetch and will leave her toy so you can throw it again. She is super responsive to leave it and will drop her toy.

"She loves to play. She can be sensitive and territorial over her food. When feeding time happens she likes it when you say leave it, and she will come back to it and likes to make a little circle. She doesn’t like to go to the bathroom outside when its raining.

"She loves stella & chewys freeze dried snacks, particularly chicken flavor. She also loves Merrick soft and chewy snacks like real chicken recipe treats and doesn’t like biscuits or hard treats very much at all. She eats a mix of hard food like Merrick and she eats farmers dog chicken and turkey are her favorite foods.

"She loves basking in tall grass and laying in it. Her favorite spot to get rubbed is her chest/heart center and her knees on her back legs. When you scratch her knees she loves to stretch them out.

"She loves mornings and when you say 'gooooood morning, Tina!' Night time is a little more sensitive for her. She loves people so much and isn’t afraid to say hello and go up to anyone. She knows how to sit, lay down, give you paw, and roll over. When she is in a cozy position she doesn’t like it when you move her from her cozy spot. Tina is currently on Prozac and takes half of 5 mg every other day. She is super healthy and has had behavioral training in the past."

Thank you for your interest in giving this dog a forever home! - Please keep in mind that many of the dogs that come into Wagmor Pets have often had very little positive human interaction, and might take a little extra love and patience to feel comfortable in your home.

Also, because our animals are rescued, we cannot guarantee their breed. In most cases, our dogs will be mixed breed. Therefore, we do recommend DNA testing with Embark! Use code WAGMOR to get $40 off an Embark Breed and Health Kit. - https://embarkvet.com/

To apply to adopt at Wagmor Pets, please submit an application at http://www.wagmorpets.org/Adoption - If after reviewing your application we feel you could potentially be a good fit, and the dog is still available, an adoption coordinator may reach out to you via e-mail or phone to schedule a 15-Minute Phone Interview to go over your application, any questions you may have about our adoption process, and help set up a meet and greet with your family.
