Meet Utah
Please meet Utah, an absolutely AUSSOME 6 year old Aussie. This stunning guy is in need of a new home. His current owner and family love him very much, but feel he needs a home that can provide him with the exercise and training he requires. They have asked Aussie Rescue of the Mid Atlantic (ARMA) to help. ARMA will only consider homes with previous Aussie or herding dog experience.
Utah is not aggressive, but he is intense and he is VERY smart. He needs physical exercise, mental stimulation and training. Utah needs an outlet for his intense focus. His next owner should be open to exploring all the fun things that Aussies enjoy and discover which one Utah will choose as his outlet. Utah was acquired by his current family, as a puppy from a breeder in Pennsylvania. There is a strong possibility that Utah comes from a herding line; nonetheless, he was raised in an apartment and recently moved with his family to a large home, with a yard.
Utah views his current job as protecting his family. He follows one of his owners around the home, always keeping an eye on her and any guests that may be visiting. He can get a little nervous around new people. Utah enjoys playing fetch a few times a day but would really like to do more activities. He also enjoys doggie day care and is good with other dogs. He doesn’t react to cats. He has tried to herd children, so he will do best in an adult home. Utah is house trained, walks great on a leash, knows basic commands, takes treats nicely (he’s food motivated) and really wants to please his owner. He’s happy to relax a bit, get a few pets and snooze on his dog bed or sofa – never far from his owner.
If you think you can provide Utah the home he requires, please email info@aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org.
