9/14 UPDATE: We went to meet Mimi this past week. It's apparent her world has been pretty one dimensional and she does not have a lot of experience with people other than her family. She was hesitant to meet our volunteer but she did take food from her. Mimi was fearful when we took her leash and pulled to get back to her family. It's heartbreaking because this dog will not do well at a shelter. She will be terrified and no doubt, shut down. All she needs is one person dedicated to helping her become the dog we know she can be. The landlord said she must be gone by October 1st.<br/><br/>Mimi is an 8 and 1/2 month old Rottweiler. She is being surrendered due to landlord restrictions. <br/><br/>Mimi has currently lives with five kids, ages two and up. Her family told us that she will bark at strangers approaching the home and that she is protective of the family. <br/><br/>We would love to find a rottie experienced foster to help out on her journey to a permanent home. If you would like to meet one of our dogs, please submit an application. Someone will contact you to set up a meet and greet if you are a match to the dog you are interested in. You must submit an application to be considered for one of our dogs.  Apply at www.almosthomeri.org All dogs live in foster homes/boarding until they are adopted. We bring dogs out to meet approved applicants as part of the adoption process. All dogs receive distemper and rabies vaccinations, are heartworm tested, dewormed and spayed or neutered accordingly, No, the adoption fee is not negotiable. You must surrender your dog to your local shelter if you are unable to keep him/her. Do so with the understanding that your dog may be euthanized. We do NOT adopt to cities/towns that entertain the idiotic BSL ordinances.
