Urek's Story
The name Urek--meaning "heart" is meant to imply that one is courageous and strong. While the courage is still in progress, and the strength is in his tail, there is another hidden meaning of the name he lives up to well: he is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, loving dog.
Still learning some aspects of normal companion dog life, he has been picking up quickly on everything from leash manners to canine social graces during his time out with our dedicated fosters. We've found that Urek wouldn't like to be in a home with cats or small children, but would enjoy another canine friend. He has enjoyed spending some time with another dog at his foster home, and tends towards a puppy-like playstyle that would benefit from a more understanding, mature dog to guide and accompany him while discovering new things and lounging in the sun.
Despite being shut-down when he first arrived at LPCHS, he has progressed enough to start to show his brighter, more curious side, and we've seen him jump some serious hurdles to get past his fears. But he is still a gentle soul, and is looking for a home that wishes to help him expand his world at his pace. Come talk to us if you feel you fit what our friend is looking for!
