Ukulele's Story

Ukulele is our longest resident of 3 years!!! This guy really struggled at animal control therefore we pulled him to give him what he needed, a quieter environment. He still struggled at our kennels and thankfully a local trainer stepped up to foster him.

There we learned he was capable of not constantly panicking. He enjoyed a couch, playing with toys, and walks! This was huge as he was a challenge at our kennels to make him comfortable.

From there he went to a foster who is experienced with shy dogs. He is absolutely thriving with this family. He loves the fenced yard where he has freedom but is safe. He also enjoys his crate and sees it as a safe space.

He is great with the others in the home including dogs, cats, and children. He is a very special dog with how long it has taken to show his confidence but he is worth the wait!

Name: Ukulele
Weight: 55 pounds
Color: brown/white
Breed: foxhound
Vaccines: up to date
Altered: yes
Heartworm Status: negative, on prevention
Energy Level: average
House trained: yes
Crate trained: yes
Dog friendly: yes, does best in a "pack"
Cat friendly: yes
Kid friendly: yes, with his timid nature, children need to give him space until he feels comfortable with his new surroundings.
