Tyson's Story
Tyson / M / 3Y / 96lbs / Golden Retriever / Fostered in Owen Sound

Tyson is an outgoing, calm, and cuddly guy who weighs in at almost 100 lbs (he is on a weight loss journey). He doesn't realize how big he is, and that's honestly part of his charm. He'll lay his head right in your lap like he's a lapdog. Because in his mind, he is.

🎾 FAVOURITE THINGS
✔ Balls — his one true love
✔ Car rides — he will literally pull you to the car door every single time you grab the leash
✔ His emotional support chicken stuffy 🐔
✔ Snuggling on the couch (and the bed... and the floor... wherever his humans are)
✔ Drinking water with an enthusiasm that is truly inspirational
✔ Giving HIGH FIVES 🙌

Tyson is 100% free-roaming in the house — no crate needed. He's fully potty trained, has zero separation anxiety, and settles easily when left alone for up to 3–4 hours. He just wants to be near his people when you're home. Classic velcro dog. He does get a little vocal if you pet another dog in front of him, but it's all talk — totally harmless.

✔ Dogs — yes! He's vocal when first meeting them but does well
✔ Cats — interested but not reactive (unless they hiss first)
✔ Kids — absolutely loves children
✔ New people — he has an impressive bark at first, but warms up

Tyson is strong on leash - double-leashing is highly recommended for walks. He has a high prey drive for birds and chickens. Leash manners are something he's actively working on — a patient, consistent adopter will help him shine.

Tyson is allergic to chicken and has a skin condition that requires long-term medication (apoquel) to manage itchiness. He is the easiest patient in the world and takes his meds like a champ!

💛 A NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER MOM
What don't I love about this boy? He lays his head on my lap. He half-climbs into the car and looks back at me like "...where's my boost?" He has the biggest, most beautiful face.

🏡 IDEAL HOME
Tyson would do best with a family who has time for ball, cuddles, and the occasional car ride. He's happy as an only dog or with a dog friend, and is wonderful with children. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle giant who will never leave your side — Tyson is your guy.

If you are interested in adopting Tyson, please complete an adoption application on our website.
