Twinkie Lhasa Apso Mix Worcester, MA

Twinkie is a 7-year old Lhasa Apso mix who weighs 21 pounds and was brought to a shelter Broken Tail Rescue partners with when his owner took ill. While at the shelter, he had two potential adopters, but nipped both of them when playing with a toy. Twinkie came to BTR for a less stressful place. He loves being in a home so he can cuddle in blankets and joyfully run around in his own back yard. Twinkie is great with other dogs! At this point, he would be happy for short walks (he has a few extra quarantine pounds to work off). He is still working on housebreaking. He has gotten a little possessive of his foster mom around the other dogs, and so he started an adapted version of training called "Nothing In Life Is Free". For example, with this type of training, has to earn back his couch privileges after he growled at one of the dogs and nipped. Old dogs can learn new tricks! He has learned to sit, and and is motivated by treats or praise from the people he loves. This little guy is very smart, and his jerky behavior should be able to be easily managed with training and consistency. Twinkie just craves attention and love, and since he's hard to resist, you won't be able to help yourself!

Twinkie will be best suited with experienced dog owners.
