Forever home found

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Tux. I am 10 years old and weigh 20 pounds. I need a new home because my parents had to move into a nursing home. I am being fostered in Cedar Rapids, IA.

I love to play, run, chew on bones, go on walks and stick my head out of the windows during car rides. My foster mom can't believe that I am 10 years old! I have the energy of a 3 year old and the manners of a well trained man. I am house trained and currently use a dog door at my foster home. Prior I would go to the door and let you know that I need to go outside. I get along with my foster siblings and when we go to visit friends I love to play with other dogs (big ones are really fun)!! I don't know about cats because I haven't been around them, but I would be willing to try.

Tux is a great dog!! He is very active for his age! He is a happy and outgoing dog. Tux will do best with activities that will burn off his energy on a regular basis (walks, chasing a ball, etc.) Tux is not a big barker, unless he is playing, needs to get your attention to go outside or is alerting you to a stranger at the door. Tux walks well on a leash, is great with strangers and knows the "sit" and "no" commands.

Tux would do best in a quieter home with no children under 16 years. He is fascinated with toes and will need constant reminding to not nip/nibble at toes. Tux tends to meet the energy of the environment that he is in. He could be an only dog or part of a dog family. Either way he wants/craves attention. Tux loves to receive and give love and affection.

Tux would be a great addition to any family that wants a constant companion and snuggle bug but currently doesn't have a strong alpha dog or small children.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? yes
Leash-trained? yes
Rides well in a car? yes
Good with other dogs? yes
Good with cats? not yet tested
Good with young children? no
Good with strangers? yes
Shy or confident? confident
Barks? yes
Apartment qualified? no
Any Special needs or Health Issues? no
Adoption Fee? $ 150

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
