Meet Tux!<br/><br/>Tux is a 1-year-old Bichon who weighs just 10 pounds, but don’t let his small size fool you—this little guy has a huge heart and an even bigger personality. Tux is loving, playful, and happiest when he’s right by your side.<br/><br/>In fact, Tux may just be the definition of a little shadow. Whether you’re standing in the kitchen or relaxing in a chair, chances are Tux will be right at your feet, keeping you company. He loves being near his people and really just wants to be close to someone. And when it’s time to relax on the couch, Tux isn’t quite sure what “personal space” means. He may start out right in your face before eventually settling in beside you—or sometimes right on top of you! He is an absolutely wonderful cuddler and loves nothing more than belly rubs and affection.<br/><br/>Tux is also a fun-loving little guy. He enjoys playing with toys, going for walks, and playing chase with his foster dog friend. He can be very playful when the mood strikes, but he also has a wonderfully chill and laid-back side. He’s learning some basic commands, including "sit" and "go to your crate," and he’s doing really well with crate training. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate next to his foster dog sibling, although he’d probably be much happier snuggled up with his people or another dog.<br/><br/>Tux is doing well with his house manners and is continuing to work on potty training. He has had only a few accidents as he has settled into his foster home. He generally walks well on leash and is continuing to work on refining his leash manners.<br/><br/>When it comes to other animals, Tux does well with his foster dog friend, who is similar in size. He has also tested well with larger dogs - meeting and hanging out with a volunteers pack of large breed dogs before foster mom came to get him! He has not been tested with cats. Tux does GREAT with children.<br/><br/>Tux can be an enthusiastic little guy. He will greet you with a very excited welcome, and he can sometimes be a bit vocal when meeting new people or dogs. Don't let that fool you though - after a sniff or two - he's everyone's bestie. <br/><br/>We think Tux would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time and genuinely wants a little companion following them from room to room. He seems to enjoy having another dog around, especially one who enjoys playing, although we’re still learning whether he would prefer canine companionship or simply lots of human companionship—or maybe both!<br/><br/>Tux is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on preventatives. He’s come a long way, and now this sweet little 10-pound guy is ready for the most important thing of all: a forever family to love him and a home to call his own.
