Tumble's Story
Meet Tumble, a 5–6-month-old, 30-pound male Great Pyrenees who may have a little Golden Retriever or Labrador mixed in—although our leading theory is that he is half marshmallow, half awkward middle-school science-club president.

Pickup Location: Midwest City, OK
-Adopter will need to pick up in person if approved. We do not do transports.

Apply here:
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Tumble is a sweet and quirky little nerd who looks like he should be wearing tiny glasses held together with tape while passionately explaining a subject nobody asked about. He probably has strong opinions about dinosaurs, owns an invisible rock collection, and would remind the teacher that she forgot to assign homework—but only because he genuinely thought he was helping. Tumble is wonderfully sweet—the personality equivalent of receiving a handwritten thank-you note from someone who also included stickers. He has the kind of innocent little face that says, “I have never done anything wrong,” even while standing inside the overturned laundry hamper wearing one of your socks as a hat. Not because he is naughty. He simply conducted an experiment, and the results were unexpected.

Tumble finds almost everything fascinating. Television? Incredible. Toys? Revolutionary. Other dogs? Instant best friends. Cats? Delightful little roommates. Snacks? The foundation upon which civilized society was built. Wind, cardboard, and one particularly captivating dust bunny? All worthy of extensive scientific investigation. He approaches life with the enthusiasm of someone who has just arrived on Earth and cannot believe we have both air conditioning and loose pieces of paper available in the same building. He absolutely loves other dogs and wastes no time establishing lifelong friendships with complete strangers. His favorite activity is playing chase in the yard and then coming inside to campaign for an immediate wrestling match, because apparently the outdoor athletic program is only the warm-up. He enjoys patrolling the yard alongside Sébastien, presumably checking the perimeter for squirrels, unauthorized leaves, and any snacks that may have fallen from the sky. Tumble is also great with cats. Whether the cats have formally endorsed this friendship is their own private administrative matter, but Tumble has submitted his application and considers himself approved. He loves people just as much. New person? Best friend. Neighbor child? Best friend. Anyone willing to cuddle, play, or possess hands that may potentially distribute snacks? Best friend with premium membership benefits. He loves the little girl next door and is happy to spend time with anyone interested in affection or fun. However, Tumble is still a mouthy puppy who occasionally attempts to experience people through his teeth. He is working on it, but older children may be the best fit for now—particularly children who will not be personally offended when a fuzzy intern briefly mistakes their sleeve for a recreational activity.

His energy level is around 5/10. He enjoys playing, chasing, wrestling, fetching toys, and conducting household research, but he is not powered by a stolen nuclear reactor. He can have fun and then settle inside with his family, preferably in the air conditioning, because Tumble has experienced indoor living and will not be returning to his previous career as an outside boy. That position has been permanently eliminated due to unacceptable working conditions and insufficient climate control. Tumble could eventually become either an adventure buddy or a happy homebody. New experiences can make him a little nervous initially, but he usually recovers quickly once he has time, encouragement, and confirmation that nobody intends to cancel snack service. With patient introductions, he should continue gaining confidence and learning that the world is mostly safe, interesting, and filled with cardboard. Leash walking is also a work in progress. When attached to a leash, Tumble currently identifies as a pancake. His bones leave his body, his legs become purely decorative, and suddenly you are attempting to walk a fluffy bathmat with concerns. Because of this—and because he truly enjoys playing and patrolling outside—a securely fenced yard would be the best setup for him right now while he continues learning that a leash is not an elaborate government conspiracy. Tumble enjoys toys and will play fetch. Whether he enjoys playing in water remains unknown because that department has not yet completed its research.

For a puppy still figuring out domestic life, Tumble’s house manners are already quite impressive. He is potty trained, crate trained, and follows a schedule. He sleeps in his crate at night and stays there while his foster family is away. He doe bark when he wants something. Perhaps he needs to potty. Perhaps he wants to play. Perhaps he has suffered a grievous miscarriage of justice—meaning someone has snacks and has inexplicably failed to give them to him. Whatever the emergency, Tumble believes silence only protects the guilty and will be filing his complaint directly with management. He already knows “sit” and is working on “shake.” His foster describes him as annoyingly smart, which means he learns quickly but may also begin noticing loopholes in household policy. He is the kind of student who finishes the assignment early and then uses the remaining time to determine which cabinet contains the treats.

If Tumble sounds like the adorably peculiar little genius missing from your family, please fill out an adoption application. Unfortunately, commenting “OMG NEED HIM” followed by seventeen heart emojis does not transmit your personal information to our adoption team through the atmosphere. Technology remains bitterly disappointing.

Apply here:
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once your application is received, we can send it to Tumble’s foster family—the people who actually know whether his specific brand of fluffy nonsense will blend well with yours.

Tumble is being fostered in Midwest City, Oklahoma. His approved adopter must come there to pick him up in person. Yes, even if you live elsewhere. Tumble cannot be folded into a shipping envelope, launched from a T-shirt cannon, or entrusted to FedEx under the category “live nerd, handle with snacks.” Consider the drive the first chapter of your adventure together and his first opportunity to determine exactly where you keep the treats.

A road trip is temporary. A sweet, smart, hilarious little best friend who believes dust bunnies are entertainment could be yours for the next 10–15 years.
