Meet Tucker in LA - Gets Along with Everyone!

The handsome Tucker is loving rescue life and having the best time playing with his other Pyr foster siblings! He gets along with everyone, matching their mood and energy level. If the house is quiet and sleepy, Tucker’s taking a snooze as well. But if others want to play, he’s all-in for a spirited game of “you chase me, then I chase you!” His adaptable PYRsonality would suggest that he will fit in with most lifestyles. He has a handsome, long white coat, which Tucker attributes to copious amounts of cheese and scrambled eggs, so he really hopes his new people will have plenty to share! Tucker was found wandering the streets, so he’s getting some much needed groceries to fill out his extra-large frame. Because he was without regular meals for so long, he’s a little protective of his food, so he requests to dine separate from the pack so he can enjoy his tasty cuisine in peace. This big doll prefers being inside where he can play with his doggie pals, chew on his toys, and pretend he’s a lap dog - He’s been known to leave the couch and climb into his foster mom’s lap for attention! Tucker is crate trained, walks well on leash, and barks about the average for a Pyr. He’ll alert you to new people in the vicinity, but quickly stops with an introduction, becoming fast friends. He’s even been wonderful with the young granddaughter that visits, so he would do well in a home with kids who can handle his size. He will often brush up against you when you’re walking, keeping you close and letting you know you’re loved and protected. Loud noises are a turn off, and car rides were scary at first, but he’s getting better every time. And he can’t wait for the day he gets to take a trip to his new furever family!

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
