Tucker's Story

Meet Tucker — a charming little blue Dachshund with a big personality and an even bigger heart. His unique dilute coat gives him that striking blue look, though this coloring can sometimes be associated with thinning hair over time. The good news is his skin is otherwise in great condition, and he has no known allergies.

Tucker is a distinguished older gentleman who’s also missing a few teeth—but don’t let that fool you. What he lacks in teeth and hair, he more than makes up for in character. He’s full of life and loves companionship.

He gets along well with other dogs and would do great in a home with canine friends. Cats, however, are not his thing—he will chase them (hey, a Dachshund’s gonna Dachshund!).

If you’re looking for a lovable, quirky companion with a fun personality and lots of love to give, Tucker just might be your perfect match.

Humane Society of Harrison County's Adoption Policy
An adoption application MUST be completed prior to an adoption. This document can be found on our web page www.hshc-paws.org at the bottom of the webpage under quick links. We will need time to process these applications, so if you are coming from out of town, please send them in ahead of your visit. Animals too young for spaying or neutering may NOT be adopted outside of Harrison County, and we can not respond to inquiries asking for exceptions. No pet that has not been altered will be adopted outside of our county due to Texas State law requiring all pets to be altered that come from a shelter or rescue. If they are to young we will adopt out locally so they can be brought back for surgery when they are old enough. Dog adoptions are $100 plus a $50.00 deposit for a spay/neuter surgery. Total adoption fee $150.00. Once the surgery is completed and we receive paperwork back from the veterinarian's office, we will refund you back your deposit. Cat adoptions are $65.00 plus a $35.00 deposit for a spay/neuter surgery. Total adoption fee $100.00. Once the surgery is completed and we receive paperwork back from the veterinarian's office, we will refund you back your deposit.
