Tucker's Story

Tucker is a magnificent, fun, sweet, and well-trained six-year-old (his birthday was June 20th), 60-pound male Golden Retriever looking for a loving guardian.

Tucker knows all his commands: sit, down, paw, other paw, spin, and many more! He is devoted to his people. Sadly, his humans who dote on him recently had a baby, and Tucker is sensitive to noises and is a resource guarder, so its just not working out. He went from being the center of his humans' universe to being gated from those he loves.

Tucker is excellent at the groomer and lets them easily trim his nails. He loves to work for treats and show off all his tricks. He is perfectly housebroken and well-behaved in the home. He has never shared a home with a cat.

He is sometimes intolerant of other dogs (in his territory) and he can be reactive to other canines following an incident at a dog park. So, he is best as the only dog. He loves people, but he can be territorial to humans who come to his home, so his folks have always introduced him to people outside the home and walked them in. He has never bitten a soul, but theyve carefully managed his behavior. Tucker has been known to show his teeth, so watching his body language is very important to keep him safe.

He is very healthy, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccines, dewormed, and heartworm negative, and on monthly preventative.

His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue.

To meet and possibly adopt Tucker, fill out the application at
https://friendsofpetraits.com/dog-adoption-application/

Once youve completed the application, follow up at friendsofpetraits@gmail.com to meet him.

He is currently being fostered in Skokie, Illinois.
