Tucan

Meet Tucan - Playful, Smart & Ready for His Forever Home!

Tucan was found lying outside Hotel Tucan in Bucerias for four days, waiting for someone to help him. No one ever came, and with a rusty choke chain barely fitting him, it is clear he was abandoned. Today he is healthy, joyful, and so ready for a committed adopter.

Notes from our dog trainer: Tucan is a great match for someone who loves to play, hike, walk, and share adventures with their dog. He is big, strong, and has a high play drive, so he needs a handler who understands how to work with energetic dogs.
At the same time, Tucan is incredibly affectionate and looks to his person for guidance and leadership. He has experience living around many dogs of different sizes and breeds and does well in those environments.

What really stands out about Tucan is his eagerness to engage with people. He truly enjoys the bond he builds with his human and seeks out that connection.
Tucan is not recommended for a first-time dog owner or someone without prior training experience, unless they are strongly committed to learning. He deserves an owner who will meet his physical and mental needs.

Once his energy is properly channeled, Tucan is happy to settle down beside you and enjoy affection and downtime together.

Tucan's Highlights:
Very dog social & super playful
Still has a fun puppy side
Extremely smart thrives with structure & stimulation
Needs space: best for acreage, farm, or ranch life
Does not like small/enclosed spaces
Not recommended for homes with small/young kids

https://www.adogsnewlife.org/tucan

Adoption Fee: $540 USD/ $600 CAD

Our rescue is located near Bucerias Mexico.
