Tuba's Story

Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization.

MEET TUBA!

Tuba (aka Tuba Good Boy!) is a 3-year-old charmer who traveled to us with volunteers from Pug Nation LA, alongside his travel buddy, Snort. His foster mom describes him as friendly, affectionate, smart, handsome, and—most importantly—HAPPY (all caps!).

Tuba loves playing with other dogs, meeting new people, and even gets along with cats. In true pug fashion, his favorite place is right by his person’s side.

Some of Tuba’s favorite activities include running around the yard with bigger dogs, curling up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket and a chew bone, and sleeping in bed with his people.

He happily goes into his crate for a handful of “crunchies” (dry kibble) and earns them as rewards for doing his business outside. He’s doing well with house training, and a consistent schedule with praise and rewards will help him continue to succeed in his forever home. Tuba already knows the “down” and “come” commands. He’s a quick learner who thrives on praise and cuddles, so continued training will help him grow into the best little buddy for his lucky adopter.

Tuba walks nicely on a leash and rides well in the car when secured in his crate, which helps him feel safe. He was neutered and microchipped at Pug Rescue of LA and will have a checkup with our vet, but overall, he’s a healthy boy who’s ready to find his family.

He would enjoy having a canine playmate but could also thrive as an only dog, soaking up all the love and giving it back tenfold. While he hasn’t been around children in his foster home, his friendly demeanor and lack of resource guarding suggest he could do well in a dog-savvy home with kids.

Tuba loves zooming around the yard, so a fenced space would make him happiest—along with a cozy blanket to roll around on. (Hey, every pug has their quirks—this one just happens to be Tuba’s!)

Are you the one to patiently take Tuba on a journey to his best life? If you meet the following criteria, please complete an application to get started!

ADOPTION FEE: $850.00 Based on age $650.00 plus $250.00 travel fee

REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT TUBA-

Tuba can be an only pet, or a playful companion would suit him well

Curious around cats, up to your cat is he can move in

Daily walks and stimulation

Ample supply of fuzzy blankets

Patience and commitment as Tuba adapts to his new environment and potty schedule

Well-mannered children aged 6 and older

Commitment to all ongoing medical care including flea, tick and heartworm preventatives as well and annual well visits.

*please note: must have proof of all pets in home to be on flea, tick and heartworm prevention in order to be considered.
