URGENT! Tristan is back at the shelter. He needs a forever home ASAP!<br/><br/>Tristan is a 4-year-old Pit Bull / Husky mix currently being held at the Kern County Animal Services - Bakersfield Shelter. He has been at the shelter since May 30, 2026, and is ready for his new home.<br/><br/>Tristan has many great qualities, including: <br/><br/>🐾 Gentle cuddlebug<br/>🐾 Walks well on leash<br/>🐾 Social with other dogs<br/>🐾 Friendly with handlers<br/>🐾 Independent & curious<br/>🐾 Smart and knows basic training cues<br/>🐾 Doesn’t bark<br/>🐾 Doesn’t mark<br/>🐾 Well-behaved in the car and during bath time<br/>🐾 Comfortable in public spaces<br/><br/>Tristan participated in the shelter's Streets of Bakersfield event. This is what his chaperone had to say about this special guy:<br/><br/>Meet the world’s most polite dog (YES REALLY!). He goes from shaking your hand to the occasional kiss. Tristan is the most well behaved dog I have ever met, not reactive in slightest other dogs may bark at him but he pays them no mind. Tristan has been at the shelter for a while and his relief for some fresh air and a quiet place to relax rolled off of him in waves. The shelter has more than 300 dogs and puppies in two metal warehouses with no outdoor runs. Dogs and puppies are at high risk for euthanasia because of lack of space and too many abandoned dogs in the community. <br/> <br/>HOW TO ADOPT, RESCUE OR FOSTER<br/>Please contact CAPS if you are interested in adopting, rescuing or fostering, and we will make sure the shelter contacts you. They do not answer phones or respond often to voice messages due to understaffing.
