Trinket's Story

Seeking a very special home for Trinket!

Trinket is a nine-year old black & white Aussie who was found in February abandoned in an empty home. He came to rescue suffering from a serious bladder infection, a mass on his shoulder, and diarrhea. Trinket was also quite overweight, weighing over 60 lbs, where he should be closer to 45. Despite this, Trinket has been nothing short of a sweet old gentleman.

Having just celebrated his ninth birthday on May 1st, Trinket is in need of a home that is open to an older dog that has special needs. He is currently being monitored by our vet for kidney issues and this special home would be committed to bringing him to Elk River for check ins and ongoing medical care, which ARM would be financially responsible for, along with providing his special food.

Trinket gets along well with dogs and humans; he loves to play with a ball and he takes his job as being the yard observer very seriously and he’s never turned down the opportunity to go for walks and mini-hunts to check out new things. He will need a home that will support his weight loss journey and ensure that he takes his medications. Overall, he is a very easy dog to have in the home, which has us hoping that there is a special home out there who would love to welcome a very special dog.

The details:
Needs fence: No
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cat: Presumed to be
Good with kids: Likely, but children will need to know how to be respectful around dogs
