She was listless, skin and bones, and depressed.

A few antibiotics and some TLC later, she is a whole new girl. Treasure loves to snuggle more than anything else in the world. She follows her chosen person around like a shadow and would do just about anything to crawl into your lap and rest her head against your chest. She also enjoys a good game of fetch and will run and jump for a ball like a champ and is very athletic. She's great on a leash and appears to be housebroken.

We don't know where Treasure has been in her life, or even how old she is because she has some missing and worn teeth (probably due to chewing on the wires of a cage), it's nearly impossible to determine her age. Vets have guessed anywhere from 4-7 years old, but she certainly has the energy level of a younger dog and we believe she is more like 3 She is so athletic and agile. She also has some real insecurities and will need a patient adopter willing to help her build her confidence.

Treasure gets nervous in new locations and can get a little clingy when she's stressed. She is also very uncomfortable with other dogs and will occasionally lash out at them when she's scared but once she gets over her first fear and panic and lashing out and sees they won't hurt her and once she gets acquainted she does well.. We are working with her to slowly socialize her with friendly, balanced dogs, and we hope she will continue to improve AND SHE HAS, but she might do best in a home where she can be the only dog, we rather envision her as being the most important dog in her best human friend's world. She has not spent much time with cats but now is doing good with them in her foster home. She calls off on anything when you sharply call her and tell her NO. She is so willing to please her human. We are so happy with her progress to date. She is coming around and adjusting to things that have been really scary for her since the shelter experience. She nearly died and was very ill with Pneumonia but she is one struggler and she survived and does well now. Healthy and lovely and shiny and a NICE DOG.

Despite her quirks and insecurities, Treasure has a loving and loyal heart. She wants to please and she wants to love, and deserves a family of her own. Please give this beautiful girl a chance.

If you are interested in Treasure please email Kristin kristin.gwinn@gmail.com for an adopt app. No one is obligated by filling it out but it is a good start to get acquainted.
