Tracer's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Tracer is a friendly boy who loves people. He was an excellent livestock guardian with goats, but he was NOT good with chickens. Not long after Tracer arrived here, we discovered that he can go over our 5' tall perimeter fence, so we moved him to the house for his safety.

Tracer has discovered that being a couch potato is a pretty good life, but he still likes to spend as much time outside as we will allow. We just have to supervise him closely to be sure he doesn't shimmy up and over the fence. We have 6' chain link fence around our yard, and he has no trouble getting over that, so his adopter will need to be dedicated to supervising his time in the yard closely, or to take plenty of leash walks for exercise. Or maybe someone out there has 8' or taller fence that Tracer won't be able to climb!

Other than his fence-climbing skills, Tracer is just about the perfect dog. He gets along well with other dogs, and is still very playful with the younger dogs. When he lived in the pasture, our barn cats loved him, and Tracer often shared his meals with them.

If he sounds like the companion you've been looking for, please complete the application on our website. Due to his fence-climbing skills, we will be even more cautious than usual in screening to find the right home for him.
