Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
The NEGAS handles approximately 3,500 animals per year. Adoption fees are used to reimburse local veterinarians who spay or neuter the adopted animals. When an animal is adopted, the owner is given a certificate that can be redeemed at a participating veterinarian clinic for the required rabies vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures on their new pet. For dogs and cats that need altering, $55 and $45 are charged, respectively, for adoption. Dogs and cats that come to the Shelter already spayed or neutered can be adopted for $15.
