Tootsie's Story

Welcome Tootsie! Meet Tootsie, an adorable little girl who is ready to leave her past behind and find a loving forever home of her own. Tootsie is approximately 3–5 years old, weighs just 12 pounds, and resembles a Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix. This sweet girl found herself in a high-kill shelter after being discovered in a field with bite wounds to her neck. Thankfully, she has healed and is now ready for her next chapter—a life filled with love, comfort, and security. Tootsie is the ultimate velcro dog! She loves being close to her person and will happily stick by your side for cuddles, pets, and companionship. She has a calm, gentle personality, gets along well with other dogs, and appears to be house-trained. While she can get along with canine friends, what Tootsie really wants is someone to call her own. Could you be the special person Tootsie has been waiting for? She has so much love to give and would make a wonderful, devoted companion. Interested in meeting Tootsie? Please complete an adoption application on our website at www.greatpets.org. Tootsie's $300 adoption donation includes her veterinary examination, spay surgery, dental cleaning, vaccinations, microchip, fecal testing, and flea control.

New Beginnings For Animals's Adoption Policy

Complete and submit the REQUIRED online adoption application first. If your application is approved you will be contacted soon to discuss your application and the pet you are interested in adopting in more detail. If the dog or cat seems like a good fit for your lifestyle and household, a meet-and-greet is arranged (including any other household pets and ALL family members). If there’s a love connection, we move on to the home check/official adoption with contract and medical records provided. Completing an application does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt the animal applied for. If there is more than one application it is the policy of New Beginnings for Animals to match the applicant that is the best fit for the animal. We do not adopt on a first come, first serve basis. We strive to place each animal in a home that is best suited to their needs and the owner's expectations. We do not adopt outside of California.
