Tookie

Tookie is the coolest little natural mutt girl! We have no idea what her breed mix is, but it resulted in a foxy, very natural looking unique little dog. She arrived at a high intake Houston shelter barely an adult but already a homeless mom, heartworm positive, but with a great attitude and plenty of charm we were hooked, and so we pulled her, She is not yet in Rhode Island as she is currently undergoing her heartworm treatment (doing very well!) having had her spay surgery, but as soon as she is here she will be available and we will keep you posted on her in the meantime

Tookie is very sweet with plenty of wit and intelligence, is cuddly and affectionate, wants to be with you but is not over dependent, and is a terrific walking and running buddy. She is terrific with other dogs, including her current foster home's personal pet who tends not to like anyone, but Tookie has a lot of nuance and savvy and finds a way. A perfect "just right" size at around 30 lbs, she offers the flex to fit into a myriad of situations, apartment or country home, single person or full family.

If you are intrigued by her and would like to be kept in the loop regarding her status and progress, please feel free to email Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com. Her adoption fee will be $450. We regretfully cannot adopt to residents of Massachusetts or New Hampshire due to state restrictions.
