Tony Montana Corgi & Terrier Mix New Orleans, LA

"Say hello to my little friend!" This is Tony (AKA Antonio (Tony) Montana from Scarface... for obvious reasons). Tony, ~4-5 year old corgi mix (our best guess), lived a ruff life on the streets though he likes to keep that chapter in his life a mystery since he hasn't told us much about it. But it's not easy to miss the signs of the horrible things he has had to endure surviving on his own. He came to us skinny (13 lbs with bones visible), scared, and timid yet he has been nothing but a gentleman. He is now starting to fill up, up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped and has already begun treatment for his heartworms.

Tony is a very independent pup who requires little work because he appreciates every little thing in having a home and a family. He will come for pets or to cuddle next to you on the couch but he will also go nap on his own bed or go smell the roses outside all day without bothering you if you don't want to be bothered. He will sleep all night in his doggy bed next to your bed unless you invite him into your bed and encourage him to feel safe there. Though he might take a couple hours to warm up to you and understand you wont hurt him, he is well worth it because he will love you like no other. He learned to use a doggy door within 24 hours and seems to be potty trained so far, like a true boss! He gets along well with the resident doggy pack and is very gentle with the resident 9 month old human baby boss. Foster claims he is one of the easiest dogs they have ever fostered! **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
