Tony's Story

Meet Tony

Tony is a 6-month-old Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix with the sweetest personality and a heart full of love. This handsome boy is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and laid-back companion.

Tony came to us from a local emergency clinic after being hospitalized for parvo. Thanks to dedicated care and his strong spirit, he made a full recovery and is now thriving in foster care!

Tony truly doesn't know a stranger-he loves everyone he meets! He's wonderful with people of all ages and has been around both young children (as young as 1 year old) and older kids, showing a gentle and calm demeanor. He's also been respectful and calm around elderly individuals.

He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion, though he'd also do well soaking up all the attention as a solo pup.

Tony has been exposed to cats and has done well overall. Like many young dogs, he may chase if they run, but he has not shown any intent to harm them. With proper introductions and continued guidance, he could coexist with dog-savvy cats.

For such a young pup, Tony already has a great foundation! He is:
House trained
Crate trained (may bark briefly when you leave/return but settles well)
Knows basic commands: sit, down, stay, come
Learning "heel" and "leave it"

Tony is an active boy who enjoys time outside and regular exercise, but once he's gotten his energy out, he's happy to relax and lounge (bonus: he's a great snuggle buddy!). He loves toys and bones-and like any puppy, he may sneak a shoe or two if they're left within reach.

Because of his breed mix, Tony would do best with an adopter who understands the needs of large, working breeds. He will grow into a big, strong dog and will benefit from continued training, structure, and space to roam-ideally a home with a yard.

Tony is currently being fostered in a loving home where he's learning all the skills he needs to be a wonderful lifelong companion.

We do require that all pets in applicants home are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccine series, and heartworm prevention.

Apply at www.pawsitivehope.org. To speed up the application process, please send vaccine records and verification of heartworm prevention of current pets to adoptions@pawsitivehope.org.
In addition, please call your veterinarian to give approval for us to contact them about current pets medical care.
