Tonka's Story

Meet Tonka—otherwise known as The Short Stacked KingTM, The Camofaluge Cryptid, and Your Future Problem.

Tonka likely spent the beginning of his life as a breeder dog. When he couldn't be sold because of an old broken leg, he was simply thrown away. He landed in a rural South Carolina shelter on March 2nd, and by March 9th, he had officially entered his glow-up era in foster care.

He arrived with an old leg injury, cherry eyes, heartworms, and approximately zero interest in spending another second in a kennel.

Fast forward a few months, and this little baked potato has mastered potty training, crate training, routines, and has become emotionally attached to Kongs, shin bones, PupSicles, and making questionable life decisions.

He's dog approved. Cat approved. Kid approved.

Honestly... we think he believes he is a child. The height checks out.

His favorite hobbies include stealing exactly one shoe (never both), sprinting through the house with toilet paper like he just robbed a convenience store, and convincing you to chase him because apparently cardio is more fun when you're doing it.

Because Tonka is brachycephalic and rocking one slightly questionable leg, his cardio endurance is... ambitious. He can wrestle like he's training for WrestleMania for a solid five minutes before dramatically retiring to the couch, where he'll make tiny T-Rex noises and insist on maintaining full-body contact with you.

Personal space is a concept Tonka finds deeply offensive.

He looks like someone accidentally shrunk a bulldog in the dryer. His nose is flatter than your weekend plans. His body is built like an ottoman. His legs are suggestions. And his confidence has never once consulted his orthopedic history.

But beneath all the comedy is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet.

The people who failed Tonka only saw what was "wrong" with him. His future family is going to laugh every single day because of everything that's right.

If your home is missing a tiny, camofaluge goblin whose love language is physical contact, petty theft, and prehistoric sound effects...

Congratulations.

You've been looking for Tonka.
