3/5/26 – Spent some time with 5-year-old TONKA today. This gorgeous red boy suddenly finds himself needing a new home, through no fault of his own. His owner moved out of state and left TONKA with his uncle, who just didn’t have the time to give him what he needs. TONKA is a friendly, happy guy who loves his toys and really enjoys his walks. He does well with female dogs when introduced properly, and he’s good with kids, though we recommend a home with teens and older. No cats or small animals for TONKA. He is afraid of thunderstorms, so he’ll need someone who can be patient when the weather rolls in. Let’s help this beautiful boy find his new home.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). YOU MAY NOT TRANSFER OWNERSHIP. **OUR RESCUE DOGS MUST BE KEPT AS AN INDOOR HOUSE PET.** - For the safety of the dog, heart worm preventative is required and we recommend that you follow a regular vaccine program established by your veterinarian to guarantee that your dog stays healthy. - Your dog must have a rabies shot and license in accordance with existing laws.
