Tommy's Story

It is devastating to realize that a dog’s happiest moments are happening inside a
boarding facility. A place most dogs can’t wait to leave… but for Tommy, it’s the only place he feels safe. The only place that has ever given him structure, consistency, and love. That alone should stop you in your tracks.
Tommy is not a bad dog. He is a dog who has been failed—used, discarded, and
abandoned over and over again. After 2½ years of bouncing in and out of shelters, survival is all he knows. When the world has taught you that people disappear, you learn to protect yourself.
Tommy has a big bark, especially around men or tall people, but it’s not aggression—it’s fear. It’s his way of saying “please don’t hurt me” before anyone gets close enough to leave him again. He has never bitten anyone and has never attempted to bite while in our care. When Tommy finally feels safe, when he trusts you, he melts into the sweetest, gentlest, happiest boy. That side of him is real—but it only comes out when someone is patient enough to stay.
Right now, Tommy is still living in survival mode. And while he’s comfortable where he is, this is not the life he deserves.
We are urgently searching for a dedicated, patient foster who can help Tommy transition into a real home—one with calm energy, predictable routines, and understanding. He would do best with another dog for confidence, but not with dominant males. He needs a quieter household, minimal foot traffic, and no children under 15, as sudden movements overwhelm him.
Tommy should not have to spend another year fighting for his life from behind kennel doors. This time, we are fighting for him—but we can’t do it alone.
If you have room in your heart and home, even temporarily, you could change the entire course of Tommy’s life. You could be the person who finally proves to him that love doesn’t disappear.
Please reach out.
Please help us help Tommy.
Let’s fight for him—together. 💔
