Tofu's Story

ID 60197845
This is Tofu. This beautiful bully lady of about 2 years of age came into the shelter quite afraid and unsure of what she was doing there. She was weary of trusting at first and it took some building of that trust with certain peeps to make her feel safe. She has definitely come a long way but can still be a little shy when meeting new people. She also likes her space at times when she engages with new humans just to make sure she feels safe.

Tofu can get startled by sudden movements so she appreciates when she can see what is going on when people are around her, and can settle down. She will show you by her body language but once she feels a’ok, she will happily be your friend.

Tofu has a playful fun side to her. She does some zoomies in the yard, happily prancing and running. She also will chase a ball but may not be in for a full blown game of fetch. She does love her treats, and will show off a lovely sit for them. This is a great way to develop a bond with her. She enjoys walks, but doesn’t need to be part of a large crowd, or where there is too much chaos. She is happy to have a quieter environment and protected by her people.

We are recommending a home with respectful kids over 10 yrs right now so she can settle in as often toddlers /little children can make a dog feel overwhelmed by quick movements.

Tofu has met a few shelter dogs but she has also shown a little bit of fear so slow introductions, and a dog that doesn’t make her feel uncomfortable or nervous would be best. She might also love being the only spoiled pooch in a home.

If you can give this lady a safe place to reside, an understanding of what she needs, and a chance to flourish…. Send an email to pevolaba@gmail.com and one of her team members will set up a chance to meet her.
